Careers

A small firm where your work matters

Careers in bookkeeping, payroll, and tax, serving owner-operated businesses across the northern Cincinnati suburbs.

True Impact

Your clients are local businesses your neighbors work for and buy from, and the owners behind them make real decisions on your numbers.

Work That Varies

At a big firm you'd repeat one task on one account, day after day. Here you work across different clients and industries.

Flexible Schedule

An in-office team with flexibility when you need it, and coverage for your clients when you're out.

Why work at Launch

The job here is helping clients. Most of our work runs on flat monthly fees, so when an owner calls with a question, answering is the work. Nobody's logging six-minute increments to justify a conversation, and getting faster and better at what you do is a win for you and for the firm. At an hourly firm, that same efficiency is lost revenue.

The firm runs on relationships. Clients tend to stay for years, and when an owner calls about something like affording a truck or hiring another guy, he's asking people who know his business. Working here puts you inside those relationships: real people in the same community, and clients who know who does their work.

The office, the season, and the benefits

The Office

Our office is in Butler County, off I-75 north of Cincinnati, and it's where the team works. We'll set you up to work remotely for the days that call for it, and the norm is being here on a regular basis.

The Season

Tax season means about five extra hours a week with no weekends from February through mid-April. Most of our clients are monthly, year-round accounts, making the 1040 side easy. After the season, our team runs more flexible hours, again with no weekends.

Who we hire

Launch hires for the roles a small firm runs on: staff and senior accountants, manager-level CPAs and EAs, payroll specialists, and office support. The team today is four credentialed accountants, including the owner, plus payroll and office staff.

Whatever the seat, the person who does well here is comfortable picking up the phone when a client calls, because everyone here does. For the accounting roles, that means public accounting experience and a CPA or EA, earned or in progress. The job is in the office in Butler County.

If you're qualified and in the Cincinnati area, we'll talk with you even when no opening is posted.

The same firm since the mid-1980s

Launch has run on the same model since the mid-1980s: books, payroll, and taxes handled together, year-round. The current owner bought the firm in 2008, renamed it Launch in 2016, and never wanted his name on the door.

It's a small office where people know the clients and each other. We've never been one to force things onto people, and clients usually talk to the same person every time. Because most clients are monthly, year-round accounts, the 1040 side of tax season stays easy: about five extra hours a week from February through mid-April, and no weekends. After the season, hours get more flexible, still with no weekends. The work gets done by people who answer when someone calls.
